Mathieu Seigle has taken on the role of General Manager at Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana, returning to Rio de Janeiro after more than four years as General Manager of Pullman Lima Miraflores in Peru.
Seigle served as General Manager of Pullman Lima Miraflores. During his tenure, the property received several Accor Americas recognitions, including Hotel General Manager of the Year and Hotel with Best Reputation Score in 2022, followed by awards for reputation and RevPAR growth in 2023. In 2024, the hotel was named Hotel of the Year and received the Bernache Award for Best Sustainability Initiatives, while 2025 brought a Brand Excellence Award.
Under his leadership, Pullman Lima Miraflores also received international recognition, including Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice – Best of the Best 2025, ranking among the top 25 hotels in South America, and a Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Award, placing it among the Top 10 Hotels in South America.
Before joining Pullman Lima Miraflores, Seigle spent more than three years with Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Mexico. He served as Director of Operations before taking on the role of Interim General Manager at Hilton Mexico City Reforma, a 459-key property with multiple restaurants and bars, spa and fitness facilities, and a large convention centre.
During his time with Hilton, Seigle also served as General Manager – Chief Enthusiast for the opening of Canopy Cancun La Isla, leading the pre-opening operations as a task force and overseeing the successful opening of the property in January 2020.
His career also includes senior operational and food and beverage roles with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, where he served as Director of Food & Beverage in Buenos Aires, and Pullman Hotels & Resorts, where he worked in São Paulo as Director of Operations and F&B Champion supporting four Pullman hotels in South America.
Earlier, Seigle served as Director of Food & Beverage at Sofitel Legend Santa Clara Cartagena in Colombia. During his tenure, the property received numerous industry recognitions, including World Travel Awards, Condé Nast Traveler recognition, Accor awards, and a Bernache Award for its repositioning from a Sofitel Luxury property to a Sofitel Legend.
He previously worked as Food & Beverage Operations Manager at Sofitel Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, where the hotel’s restaurant Le Pré Catelan received Brazil’s first Michelin star for a hotel restaurant during his tenure.
Seigle began his hospitality career in Europe, working in banquets and off-site catering at Hotel Arts Barcelona and in guest-facing roles at Hotel Casa Fuster in Barcelona. He also gained restaurant management experience with Pourcel Group, working in Montpellier, France, and Shanghai, China, including involvement in projects connected to the Shanghai World Expo 2010.
With experience spanning hotel operations, general management, food and beverage, pre-opening projects, luxury hospitality, and international hotel management, Seigle brings a diverse international background to his new leadership position at Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana.
