Chelan Goonetilleke has stepped into the role of General Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, effective February 2026.
He assumes the position following his tenure as General Manager of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler, where he led one of Canada’s most prominent luxury resort destinations. His appointment marks the continuation of an 18-year career with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, spanning commercial leadership, resort operations and executive management across multiple international markets.
Prior to leading Whistler as General Manager, Goonetilleke served as Resort Manager at the property and earlier as Director of Marketing, overseeing brand positioning, revenue strategy and market growth initiatives.
His global leadership experience includes senior commercial roles in Dubai, Mauritius and Seychelles, where he directed sales, marketing, public relations, revenue management and events functions across complex luxury resort environments. His career reflects a consistent progression from commercial strategy into full operational leadership within flagship and resort properties.
Before joining Four Seasons, he held senior sales and marketing positions with Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces, overseeing luxury resort portfolios in the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
