Tamer Habib Appointed Chief Operating Officer at Amora Hotels & Resorts
Amora Hotels & Resorts has appointed Tamer Habib as Chief Operating Officer, effective January 2026.
Habib steps into the role following three years with Amora Hotels & Resorts as Vice President Operations, where he oversaw operational strategy, performance optimisation and portfolio growth across Australia. His elevation to COO reflects continued leadership continuity within the group as it strengthens its executive structure.
Prior to joining Amora, Habib spent more than eight years with Stamford Hotels and Resorts, progressing through senior operational leadership roles including Vice President Operations, Area General Manager and General Manager across Australia and New Zealand. During this tenure, he led multi-property performance, asset enhancement initiatives and operational restructuring across key metropolitan markets.
Earlier in his career, he held a series of progressive operational roles with Rydges Hotels & Resorts, building foundational expertise in rooms division and front office leadership before transitioning into senior property-level management.
Habib’s background also includes revenue management and operational leadership roles with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, as well as earlier experience with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts.
With more than two decades of hospitality leadership experience spanning front office operations, revenue management, food and beverage, and executive oversight, Habib’s appointment as Chief Operating Officer signals Amora’s continued focus on operational depth and portfolio performance across its Australian footprint.
