People on the Move | Ageel Alshaibani Appointed CEO of Saudi Tourism Authority

Ageel Alshaibani has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA), effective September 1, 2026.

Alshaibani brings extensive experience in strategic planning, tourism, economic development, and public-sector leadership. Before his appointment, he served as Deputy Minister of Strategic Planning & Monitoring at the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia.

He has also served as a Board Member of the Saudi Tourism Authority since February 2025 and has held leadership and governance roles across Saudi Arabia’s tourism, entertainment, events, and air connectivity sectors. His current and recent positions include Executive Committee Member at the Events Investment Fund, President of the Saudi Swimming Federation, Board Member of the General Entertainment Authority, and committee roles with the Saudi Air Connectivity Program.

Earlier in his career, Alshaibani served as Chief Strategy Officer at Misk Foundation, Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company in Dubai, and Advisor to the Minister of Health and Director General of the Strategic Partnerships Office at the Ministry of Health.

In his new role as CEO of the Saudi Tourism Authority, Alshaibani will lead the authority as Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen its tourism sector, promote its destinations internationally, and advance the Kingdom’s position as a leading global tourism destination.
