Mark Eletr Appointed General Manager at Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa

Mark Eletr has been appointed General Manager of Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa, bringing nearly three decades of international luxury hospitality experience spanning Australia, the Maldives, Vietnam, Thailand, the UAE, and Southeast Asia. Throughout his career, he has successfully led luxury resorts, large-scale repositioning projects, pre-opening developments, and multi-property operations for some of the world’s most respected hospitality brands.

Eletr joins Hilton following more than eight years with IHG Hotels & Resorts, where he most recently served as General Manager of Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives. During his tenure, he led the strategic repositioning and rejuvenation of the iconic 154-villa luxury resort, overseeing a comprehensive brand refresh while preserving its heritage and enhancing the guest experience across every touchpoint. He also played an active role in the wider Maldivian tourism industry as an Executive Board Member of the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI).

Prior to this, Eletr held several senior leadership roles across IHG. As Pre-Opening General Manager of Crowne Plaza Star Bay Phu Quoc in Vietnam, he led the development and launch of the new luxury resort. Earlier, he successfully managed the landmark reopening of InterContinental Hayman Island Resort in Australia following its AUD130 million refurbishment and rebranding, directing one of IHG’s flagship luxury resort projects in the region.

Before joining IHG, Eletr served as Vice President and Regional Director of Operations for Karma Group, overseeing a portfolio of boutique resorts and luxury retreats across Asia Pacific. He also held the position of Group General Manager at Akaryn Hotel Group, managing multiple boutique luxury properties throughout Southeast Asia while supporting the company’s regional growth strategy.

His career also includes more than four years with Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, where he served as Cluster General Manager on Abu Dhabi’s Sir Bani Yas Island, overseeing three luxury Anantara resorts alongside extensive wildlife, marine, conference, and recreational operations. Earlier, he was General Manager of Anantara Mui Ne in Vietnam and Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan in Thailand, consistently delivering strong operational performance and elevated guest experiences.

Eletr’s hospitality journey began in Australia, where he steadily progressed through operational leadership positions at renowned island resorts including Bedarra Island Resort, Lizard Island Resort, Green Island Resort, and Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts. His early experience also included a Food & Beverage Manager role with Carnival Cruise Line, further strengthening his expertise in luxury service, resort operations, and international guest experience.

With extensive expertise in luxury resort management, pre-opening leadership, strategic repositioning, food and beverage operations, and multi-property management, Mark Eletr has built a distinguished international career defined by operational excellence and innovation.
