Rob Kucera has been appointed Regional Vice President for East & South Africa at Aleph Hospitality, bringing more than 25 years of hospitality leadership experience to his new regional role.
Kucera joins Aleph Hospitality after a long career with Radisson Hotel Group, where he most recently served as General Manager and District Director for East Africa, alongside his role as General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre, Kigali. His regional responsibilities included oversight across properties and future developments in East Africa.
During his tenure with Radisson Hotel Group, Kucera held senior leadership positions in Nairobi, Kigali and Istanbul. Before moving to Kigali, he served as General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel Nairobi Upper Hill and the Radisson Blu Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul. His experience with the group has given him extensive expertise in multi-property operations, business growth, team leadership and guest experience.
Kucera’s earlier career includes senior roles with Westin Cape Town, Arabella Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort, Mövenpick Wilderness Hotel and Protea Hotels in South Africa. He also served as Chief Operations Officer at Hospitality Property Fund, contributing to the management of a dedicated hotel real estate investment platform.
Beyond hotel operations, Kucera has contributed to the wider development of the hospitality industry. He served as Chairman of the FEDHASA Cape Board, representing the interests of hospitality businesses in South Africa’s Western Cape. His leadership has also been recognised through industry awards, including the Protea Hotels General Manager of the Year Award and recognition for Best Team Collaboration while leading the Westin Cape Town team.
Kucera has pursued professional development through institutions including the University of the Witwatersrand, University of Johannesburg, Cornell University and INSEAD Business School. He completed Cornell’s Advanced General Manager Course and an INSEAD programme focused on managing complexities.
With extensive experience across hotel operations, regional leadership, business performance, team development and guest experience, Kucera brings a strong background to his new position at Aleph Hospitality. His appointment marks another step in a career spanning multiple markets across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
