Nicola Abate has been appointed General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Cristallo.
Abate brings extensive experience in luxury hospitality operations across Italy, with a career spanning more than two decades in upscale hotels and resorts. Prior to this appointment, he served as Hotel Manager at Mandarin Oriental in Milan, following nearly five years as Resort Manager in Como, where he played a key role in overseeing luxury guest experiences and resort operations.
Before joining Mandarin Oriental, he held multiple leadership roles with Baglioni Hotels & Resorts, serving as Hotel Manager in both Punta Ala and Milan. He also previously served as Hotel Manager at L’Andana – Tenuta La Badiola Resort & Spa, further strengthening his expertise in luxury resort management.
His earlier experience includes senior operational positions at L’Albereta Relais & Châteaux – Espace Chenot Health Wellness Spa and L’Andana Resort & Spa, where he managed rooms division and front office operations. Abate began his hospitality career with roles at Park Hyatt Milano, Hotel De Russie, Hotel Regency, and Palazzo Arzaga Golf & Spa Resort, building a strong foundation in guest services and luxury hotel operations.
His appointment reflects Mandarin Oriental’s continued focus on experienced leadership to strengthen its luxury hospitality presence in Italy.
