Alex Petrou has been appointed Dual Director of Operations for the New York Marriott Downtown and Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott.
Petrou takes on the expanded role after serving as Director of Operations at the New York Marriott Downtown since March 2025. Prior to that, he held the position of Director of Room Operations at the New York Marriott Marquis, following his role as Front Office Manager at the same property.
His career with Marriott International also includes several leadership positions at the Sheraton New York Times Square, where he served as Director of Services and Assistant Director of Services, as well as Assistant Director of Front Office at the Westin New York at Times Square.
Before these roles, Petrou served as Director of Rooms at the Westin New York Grand Central, under HEI Hotels & Resorts. He previously spent five years as Director of Operations at Columbia Sussex Management Company.
Petrou began his hospitality career with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, serving as a Front Office Supervisor in Orlando from 2009 to 2012.
With experience spanning front office, rooms, guest services and hotel operations, Petrou brings a strong operational background to his new dual-property leadership position.
